Single File Encryption
In today’s world, you always need to be wary of file and document security. If you are in the office, at home, or on the road, encryption of sensitive files is always recommended.
But what if you have one file that you want to secure and don’t want to do a full encryption on a thumb drive? Have I found a great FREE utility for you.
It goes by the name of Safe Calculator and it made by KrilSoftware. Not only does this application encrypt your file (admittedly probably very light encryption), but it hides it in absolutely plain sight.
Another advantage of this application is how portable it is. No install or registry entries required. You just copy the file to your drive (hard or thumb) and launch the application. After typing in the PIN and hitting MS (Memory Save) you go into safety mode. You can then add a single file, copy, or restore the file out of memory as simple as using a calculator. I admit it did take a moment or two to understand the functions, but the readme file explains it pretty well.
You read that right, a calculator. Even under close scrutiny it has all of the appearances of Windows Calculator. Hiding in plain sight, just in case that thumb disk is misplaced, stolen, or left hanging out of someone’s computer.
The only drawback I found was that you can only add one file into the protection. But for what it is designed for and the price, you can’t beat it.

This is brilliant but I have one question…
How do you decrypt it??
In the safe mode (after you enter the pin) you have can either his the “-” which moves the file back out and clears it from the app. Or you can hit the “8” which copies it out and leaves the original in the program
nice software, ive been using this freeware called keeppass that does the same thing.
but nice app that hides as a calc
Isn’t Keeppass geared more for password’s?
