Firefox Keyboard Shortcuts

1. Drag and drop
   • Drag the favi­con of any site to your home icon to set it as the home page.
   • Drag a hyper­link (or image) to the new tab icon to open the link in a new tab.
   • Drag a high­ligh­ted word to the search bar (beside the address bar) will bring you to the Goo­gle search result page for that word. If you drag the high­ligh­ted word to the address bar (and press enter), Fire­fox will per­form a Goo­gle “I’m Fee­ling Lucky” search

There are many things that you can drag and drop in Firefox.

2. Tab navi­ga­tionYou can move bet­ween your tabs without the aid of your mouse:
   • Ctrl+Tab (rotate for­ward among tabs)
   • Ctrl+Shft+Tab (rotate to the pre­vious tab)
   • Ctrl+1–9 (choose a num­ber to jump to a spe­ci­fic tab)
3. Key­board short­cuts
   • Ctrl + F: Brings up the Find in Page search
   • Ctrl + D: Quickly adds a web­page to your book­marks (the new book­mark goes straight into the main book­mark list)
   • Ctrl + K: Moves the cur­sor straight to the search box
   • Ctrl + L: Moves the cur­sor to the address bar
   • Ctrl + W: Clo­ses current tab
   • Ctrl + Enter: Insert www and .com to the address bar. If you enter “about” in the address bar and press Ctrl + Enter, the brow­ser will load the “www.about.com” page
   • Ctrl + +/- : Increase/decrease the font size
   • Spa­ce­bar: Page down
   • Shift + Spa­ce­bar: Page up
   • Alt + Home: Takes current tab to your home page
   • Alt + Enter: Dupli­cate the current tab
   • Alt + N: Find next in page
   • F5: Reloads current page

In addi­tion to the well known Ctrl + T pen new tab, Ctrl + N: open new win­dow etc, the follo­wing short­cuts are very helpful:

4. Mouse short­cuts
   • Ctrl + scroll up/down: Increase/decrease the font size (same as the Ctrl ++/-)
   • Click a hyper­link with the middle but­ton (or scrollwheel) opens the link in a new tab
   • Shift + scroll up/down: Navi­gate bet­ween the next and pre­vious page
5. Book­mark key­word searchIf you set a key­word for your book­mark, you can easily open the book­mark simply by typing the key­word in the address bar.To set key­words for your book­mark, right click the book­mark and select pro­per­ties. You should see a ‘key­word‘ field where you can enter your keyword.
